Pandanus Beach Resort & Spa

We are here in the monsoon season. The sea is to rough to swim. However, you can get over it! We have had rain over night and a couple of 15 min down pours. But it's to warm to worry. Unlike some Asian tourist hot spots, Sri Lanka is clean, stunningly beautiful and they drive on the left! The people are welcoming and warm. We travelled with Mercury again as we think we have found some of the loveliest boutique hotels around the Indian ocean with them. So we are adding another......Pandanus beach resort and spa. I am writing this while eating lunch of prawns, pork, bbq chicken and salad. Isuru and Deshan taking care of us. As a small hotel, quieter at this time of year, the buffet is smaller to reduce waste which is good to see. The chef will accommodate whatever you need and the choice of veg and fruit is great. FYI wine is extra but the beer and local spirits mean you don't miss it. (wine is a little expensive in Sri Lanka generally). The location is literally on the beach and the sound of breaking waves your constant backdrop. Our room is stunning and there is a 40m pool that is warmed by the sun. So if the idea of Asia intimidates you a little, come here first. I simple can't say enough good things about this beautiful hotel. Check out the pics. I am not exaggerating! Even the guys selling tours on the beach are polite and no issue. They aren't pushy and probs have a great prices?

We had a wonderful vacation at Pandanus Beach Resort & Spa. Everyone was super loving and warm. The food is excellent, simply delicious and very lovingly prepared. Big thanks to everyone,the reception, the service from the pool and beach, the bars, the room service and the entire restaurant here mainly served us Kelum, Dilip, Manoj, Isuru and Marlo but everyone else was also super nice and helpful. We would like to thank you very much for the great holiday and keep it up. We can recommend the Pandanus Beach Resort & Spa 100% and will definitely come back.

Pandanus Beach Resort was an unexpected gem on our Sri Lanka trip. Set in a fantastic location just 10 minutes from Bentota Beach, it offers a more secluded and exclusive experience on its adjacent beach, away from the busier tourist areas. The sea-facing rooms boast breathtaking ocean views, perfect for capturing stunning sunsets that will stay with you long after your visit. You can also soak in the sunset from the resort’s beautiful pool, which sits right off the beach, blending seamlessly with the ocean horizon. The hospitality at Pandanus is exceptional, with a friendly and attentive team at the reception who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. For those looking for an extra touch of luxury, some rooms feature private jacuzzis. The breakfast spread is extensive and varied, with the staff putting in tremendous effort to ensure we felt right at home. I found Pandanus a more appealing choice than staying directly in Bentota, as it offers a peaceful, serene atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxation. If you plan to visit Bentota frequently, I’d suggest renting a scooter for easy access or taking a tuk-tuk, which costs around 400 LKR. The beach itself is ideal for morning jogs and, during low tide, can be safe for swimming. In short, Pandanus Beach Resort offers great hospitality, unforgettable views, and a tranquil ambiance, making it a standout choice. Excellent management from breakfast service to front desk—highly recommended for a restful and scenic getaway.

Excellent standards throughout at this resort and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional highlighted by making my birthday such a special day. I hadn't mentioned to anyone that my birthday was during my stay, I presume they check passports for such events. Not only was my bed decorated with a birthday message, flowers and a towel elephant but our dining table was also decorated in the same manner and I was presented with a birthday cake as the catering staff, accompanied by a saxophonist, sang happy birthday to me. All so unexpected and very much appreciated. I can't praise all the staff highly enough for their help, friendliness and efficiency throughout our stay - especially Ananda, Head of House, who quite clearly took great pleasure making sure everything ran smoothly and efficiently for all guests. There is only one thing that could be improved and it is nothing to do with the hotel. The hotel beach area was kept very clean but the areas of the beach either side were littered with debris washed in from the sea which nobody cleared away. Plastic items of all kinds, glass bottles, flip flops and various other objects were strewn across the beach. Some items were quite sharp making it dangerous to walk on these stretches of beach. I did mention this, as did other guests, so hopefully it will be addressed.

Great hotel with great people! The food is excellent, every day something new. You can not be bored 😀 just prepare yourself for eating all the time 🤣 We had a deluxe room with a fantastic view over the ocean. Rooms are very spacious with balcony. You simply have to come and visit 😀

Our holiday in the pandanus hotel it is a very nice stay food was very delicious and room was really nice and direct sea view and reception staff upgraded our rooms to delux room. Thank you for all staff specially thaks for chathuri sara amandi susan heshan pankaja ajith pasindu fowsan danjaya pubudu kumara upul chandana ms. Nayomi and mr.julian also... we come back agin with our family ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍

verry good serivce by kelum the f and b executive , dilop and his team at the pandanus beach resort they go the extra mile to make sure there guest are well looked after during ,breakfast , lunch , dinner he and his staff work exteemley hard to make the guesst have an amazing experience by having great initiave e.g having a sepcial cocktail every night . that he promotes in the dinning room and organising champagne meals on the beach as a special treat for couples so guests can celebrate special ocasions many thanks for the exceptional service

Very good hotel. All rooms have a very nice view to the sea. Veey long swimming pool. I played water volleyball and beach volleyball which was organized by a sport trainer. This was fun. I give special praise to the cuisine. Large variety of Sri Lankan and Western food. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and full-fills many wishes. The sous chef is amazing taking care about each guest very well and making sure that the quality of food is at a very high standard. Every meal was a big pleasure. I would like to visit this hotel again.

After a wonderful tour in Sri Lanka, we ended our wonderful stay at Pandanus Beach Hotel!! Dream landscape, more than very attentive team (thanks to Dilip, Tharaka and Uvindu) and breathtaking cuisine during our Lovers on the Beach service!!! Here you will find Chef Thivanka worthy of a Michelin star. And above all, don't miss the SPA. I sincerely recommend
